Aaron D. Frishman
Of Counsel
With almost 20 years of experience in estate planning, Aaron has learned one fundamental truth – estate planning is a highly personal, and in many cases, emotional endeavor for individuals and their families. Aaron appreciates this fact, and treats every relationship with his clients as just that, a meaningful relationship. He has learned that every person’s plan, while in some cases may be similar to others, is unique in and of itself and always requires special attention to details. Whether it is from generating a more “basic” plan for younger families with children, to developing more sophisticated tax plans for high-net-worth clients, Aaron’s ultimate goal is to assist all clients, regardless of asset level and wealth, to enable them to protect their assets for themselves, their families, and their loved ones, while minimizing tax liability and exposure. When families lose a loved one, Aaron also works closely with fiduciaries and beneficiaries to help them navigate probate, estate, and trust administration, to ensure that proper wishes are met and that tax matters are sufficiently addressed.
Aaron feels fortunate to be able to incorporate his experience practicing in Elder Law with his planning. He is able to identify and plan for important issues, that may not have been previously seen, related to long-term healthcare costs, special needs planning, and issues related to public benefits. On a more general level, Aaron helps and directs clients who may own or run businesses and not-for-profits and assists with general corporate matters related to corporate entity creation, corporate governance, business succession planning, and liability and privacy matters.
Aaron is licensed to practice in Oregon, Washington, New York, and Colorado. He has lectured to a diverse range of individuals and professionals in multiple states on various topics including estate and tax planning, planning for incapacity, trust administration, and special needs trusts. Aaron lives in West Linn, Oregon with his wife, son, and “BoJack” (Boston Terrier/Jack Russell mix). When not assisting clients, he enjoys experiencing anything outdoors in the PNW, playing sports – softball and volleyball, skiing in the winter, and rooting on his teenage son, Jack who has become quite a competitive baseball player.
